The role – Accountant

Are you looking for a broad role in a friendly and collaborative team where your voice truly matters?

You’ll be joining our small and well-functioning Finance team, where we have the freedom to shape our own processes and find the best ways of working together. Our goal is simple: to be the best Finance team we can be for MAG, creating clear and structured processes where they're needed, while staying flexible where they're not. Our team spirit is all about being helpful, down-to-earth and structured.

This is a varied role where you’ll get involved across the finance function, taking ownership of your own areas while working closely with the rest of the team. If you take pride in what you do, enjoy getting stuck in and are looking for a fun and inclusive workplace, we’d love to hear from you!

You’ll take part in, and in some cases take ownership of:

• Group Accounting & Reporting: Working with the team to ensure accurate consolidation and produce high-quality quarterly and annual financial reports.

• Regulatory Compliance: Applying your knowledge of IFRS and other relevant rules and regulations to ensure we remain compliant and stay on top of regulatory changes.

• Financial Control: Supporting key processes including budget preparation, financial feedback to our game teams, management reporting, monthly controls and quality checks.

• Recurring Finance Activities: Taking part in monthly, quarterly and annual closings, tax declarations, cash flow analysis and audits.

• Projects & Improvements: Helping us streamline processes, implement new software and find smarter ways of working. And if mergers or acquisitions come along, you and the rest of the team will be involved.

• Pitching in: We’re a small team, so from time to time we all roll up our sleeves and help with whatever needs doing, whether that’s banking, solving an unexpected problem or simply getting stuff done.

Skills & Experience

You’ll have solid experience from one, or probably more, of the following areas:

• Group accounting, consolidation and closing activities, ideally within a listed company

• Producing quarterly and annual financial reports

• IFRS and a strong understanding of accounting principles and policies

• Regulatory compliance

• Cash flow analysis and reconciliation

Nice to have

• We use NetSuite, so previous experience would be useful, but it’s absolutely not essential. You’ll have the opportunity to learn it in the role.

• Experience working with employee share option programmes would be a bonus.
